Several years ago the special Sleuthfest luncheon speaker was Robert B. Parker and, I was privileged to be a one of many that day impressed by both the man and his words of writing encouragement. Considered the dean of American crime fiction and the bestselling, award-winning author of more than 45 books, Robert B. Parker died suddenly on January 18, 2010. He'll be sadly missed by his legion of readers. He was 77.
