Dear Reader,

Back in 1981, Rob MacGregor was working as a newspaper reporter in South Florida. It was a year after the Mariel boatlift and he was preparing an article on the fates of those who had crossed that treacherous ninety-mile stretch of water between Cuba and the United States. During this investigation, he met a woman who was teaching English to Cuban refugees at Florida International University.

"Reporters aren't supposed to get involved with their sources," Rob explains, "but the teacher and I quickly left behind our roles as interviewer and interviewee. We both wanted to pursue freelance writing careers and several months later, we quit our jobs and struck out on our own. Oh yeah, we got married, too. Now, many years and many books later, Trish ( T.J.) and I are still writing our stories."

Rob MacGregor has since published more than two dozen novels and non-fiction books. PROPHECY ROCK (Simon & Schuster) won the 1996 Edgar Allan Poe Award as the Best Young Adult Novel of the year. The sequel, called HAWK MOON, was a finalist for an Edgar Award in 1997. The Edgars are sponsored by the Mystery Writers of America.

Rob has worked with George Lucas, Peter Benchley, Billy Dee Williams and Todd McFarlane on projects. Rob adapted the script of INDIANA JONES AND THE LAST CRUSADE and went on to write six other Indiana Jones novels. Other novels adapted from scripts include: SPAWN, THE PHANTOM, PRIVATE EYE, and PRIVATE EYE: FLIPSIDE.

Other non-fiction books are DREAM POWER FOR TEENS, STAR POWER: Astrology for Teens, co-authored by Megan MacGregor,  THE COMPLETE DREAM DICTIONARY, THE LOTUS AND THE STARS: The Way of Astro-Yoga, and THE EVERYTHING DREAMS BOOK, co-authored with Trish MacGregor.

(book with audio CD)
by Rob MacGregor

You have what you believe is a private thought—until somebody who is with you gives voice to exactly what you were thinking about! Moments like this happen to everyone, and it's easy to write them off as coincidences. Not so fast, advises author Rob MacGregor. He explains several different kinds of unusual mental experiences and argues convincingly that many of them suggest the existence of psychic powers. Then, he takes his readers several steps further, advising on how all men and women, regardless of age, can develop their own psychic powers. He discusses:
  • Precognition, or knowing about things that haven't happened yet
  • Telepathy, or sensing what somebody else is thinking
  • Clairvoyance, or getting a mental picture of an event occurring far away
  • Psychokinetic energy, or moving an object through the power of thought
  • Psychometry, or learning about past events through the sense of touch
Synchronicity, or experiencing meaningful coincidences He also presents a balanced overview of the running debate between psychics and those scientists who assert that psychic events are violations of nature, and thus do not exist. MacGregor insists that while all people have psychic potential, psychic skills need to be developed in order to be used effectively to our benefit. Learning to use psychic skills is the main focus of this intriguing book. It is written for all who want to develop their intuitive abilities and explore their inner powers.Handsomely produced, Psychic Power features attractive two-color typography.
